Organisation
Dhriiti, New Delhi
Project name
Entrepreneurship development initiatives for youth in Delhi and Jharkhand
Grant operationalised
September 2008
Duration
2 years
Grant amount sanctioned
Rs11 million

Activities within the grant and expected impact:
The three key components of the project are:
Continuation of the Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow (EoT) programme and its expansion to five colleges reaching out to 175 youth, while continuing to support the trained youth
Launching of an employability programme in Jharkhand in partnership with other non profits
Internal strengthening of Dhriiti as an organisation

The key components have been elucidated briefly:
Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow (EoT) programme is being streamlined. Dhriiti is expanding into new colleges, both within and outside Delhi, besides continuing to support those already trained. Consequently, five entrepreneurship chapters in colleges in Delhi University would be covered, reaching out to 175 youth. As a result, those who attend the training are expected to show a preference towards entrepreneurship, besides developing specific entrepreneurial skills.
Youth Entrepreneurship Development Programme in Jharkhand: Unemployment amongst youth particularly from marginalised sections is a stark reality. This programme would aim to develop entrepreneurial skills amongst youth in the age group of 16-22 years, thereby enhancing their confidence and making entrepreneurship a positive career option. Consequently, 70 trainers would be trained who would then reach out to 185 participants. Through the programme, at least 20 per cent of the trained participants will start their own entrepreneurial ventures. Besides, at least 50 per cent of the entrepreneurial ventures will continue for at least one year.
Internal strengthening of Dhriiti, which would incorporate human resource development, together with developing a culture of innovation within the organisation, developing HR systems including a performance evaluation system and building managerial capacity and leadership of staff.
