Activities within the grant and expected impact:

The project aims to empower 40 tribal (Munda) adolescent girls by strengthening the social, emotional, physical and cognitive aspects of their personality by imparting quality education and preparing them to appear for National Institute for Open Schooling (NIOS) exams and providing vocational training so that they are capable of earning their livelihoods. The project will target 40 tribal girls within the age group of 12 to 17 years, belonging to the schedule tribe community, particularly those girls who have been compelled to discontinue their studies due to poverty.

Impact of the project is expected at multiple levels:
Parents / families: Parents and families of the dropout girls will be sensitised and encouraged to send their wards to continue their education
Adolescents: Forty tribal (Munda) adolescent girls will have improved social, emotional, physical and cognitive aspects of their personality by receiving quality education and would clear the National Institute for Open Schooling (NIOS) exams. Besides, the vocational training will make them capable of earning their livelihoods. Successful completion of the project would lay the foundations for scaling up the intervention in the subsequent phase.
