Activities within the grant and expected impact:
The project aims to empower 40 tribal (Munda) adolescent
girls by strengthening the social, emotional, physical
and cognitive aspects of their personality by imparting
quality education and preparing them to appear for
National Institute for Open Schooling (NIOS) exams
and providing vocational training so that they are
capable of earning their livelihoods. The project
will target 40 tribal girls within the age group
of 12 to 17 years, belonging to the schedule tribe
community, particularly those girls who have been
compelled to discontinue their studies due to poverty.
Impact of the project is expected at multiple levels:
|
|
Parents / families: Parents and families
of the dropout girls will be sensitised and
encouraged to send their wards to continue
their education |
|
|
Adolescents: Forty tribal (Munda) adolescent
girls will have improved social, emotional,
physical and cognitive aspects of their personality
by receiving quality education and would clear
the National Institute for Open Schooling
(NIOS) exams. Besides, the vocational training
will make them capable of earning their livelihoods.
Successful completion of the project would
lay the foundations for scaling up the intervention
in the subsequent phase. |
