Knowledge building for informed action and policy
 

Based on one of the key recommendations of the Strategic Review of Education (2005), the Trusts support knowledge building in the field of education as part of the sub-theme “Nurturing Education as a Discipline”.

As stressed in the strategic report, while it is important to support field projects improving quality and access of elementary education, informed understanding about educational processes is a critical gap. Elementary education is an underdeveloped discipline and hence, support for education research, documentation, and dissemination is important.
