Activities within the grant:
The grant assists Eklavya up-scale and strengthen its Publications programme. It has two thrust areas, namely, Publications, and Library.

The Publications programme has three components:




Development of up to 75 new titles over the grant period, ranging from children’s literature, activity books, teachers’ handbooks, educational classics, poetry, subject-wise modules and reference books
Dissemination and marketing of the titles through mail orders, national, regional and school-based fairs, bookshops and agents and setting up of Pitara Kendras, which are specialised outlet cum activity centres
Development of new initiatives, which would, amongst other things, develop multi-media packages of educational material for children and teachers, and set up a functional website.

Eklavya says 'March on'

As part of the library programme, Eklavya is developing a “Children’s Literature Resource Centre”. The centre would collect a wide range of children’s publications, especially in Hindi, review children’s literature and books on education, and develop comprehensive, graded catalogues of books, besides a manual for starting and running libraries.
