| Systemic reform through
collaborative projects |
| |
The sole presence of
a school doesn't ensure education. Retention
of students, quality of curriculum, classroom
transactions, and effectiveness of teacher
development are some of the main areas where
the delivery system has fared poorly and the
major challenge still lies in bringing about
qualitative changes in children's learnings.
Acknowledging this lacuna, the Trusts are
fostering systemic reform in the existing
education systems, institutions and educational
structures while simultaneously engaging with
the other stakeholders who are integral to
the educational process for improving delivery
of elementary education.
The key areas of engagement for grants under
this sub-theme are as follows:
|
|
Intensive involvement in government
schools for the improvement of learning
levels of children through direct engagement
with children by a local youth trained
by the organisations, working in/after
the school |
|
|
Development of supplementary curricular
material and promoting its use among
students and teachers |
|
|
Strengthening community involvement
around the school |
|
|
Teacher trainings with follow-up /
classroom support in order to facilitate
change in pedagogic practice among teachers |
|
|
Engagement with cluster / block /
district level authorities for enhancing
effectiveness of school based support
and supervision |
