The Social
Justice Initiative of the Higher Education
Cell is conducting a two-day orientation workshop
for the faculty members of nine undergraduate
colleges, under the Ford Pathways, on February
19 and 20, 2010.
The workshop will involve a thematic orientation
to issues of social justice in higher education,
to understand these issues in the context
of law, culture and social conflict, and an
examination of why existing efforts to address
these issues have not been very successful.
The second day will include a detailed orientation
to the technological aspects of the programme,
to be handled by the Centre for Internet and
Society (CIS), Bangalore.
Apart from this, the workshop will also have
a group discussion on specific campus activities
and research initiatives to be undertaken
as part of the three-year programme. |
