Activities within the grant and expected
impact:
During the second phase of support, CHC
is focusing primarily on young individuals
already working with, or proposing to work
with Community Based Organisations and programmes
in the voluntary and development sector.
It is also focusing on the national perspective
on community and public health learning
through facilitation of intercultural involvement.
Additionally, considering the vast HR gap
in the sector and limited resources within
the organisation, this phase also experiments
with how fellows can network with each other
and build linkages between organisations,
community health groups, etc. It will also
see CHC metamorphose into a resource agency
enhancing solidarity towards the countrys
health initiative.
Key components of the
project include:
|
|
Full time fellowship programme |
|

|
|
Development as
a resource centre |
The project would help train around 42
professionals in community health, and through
their efforts, benefit under-served population
at grass root level. The project would also
lead to documentation and dissemination
of the best practices through developing
modules, information pamphlets and newsletters
on the experiences, which would be extensively
shared with the stakeholders in the sector.
The project would also help highlight and
provide practical solutions for gaps in
health training.
CHC would work with six organisations to
help build their capacities through exposure
visits and training programmes to enable
them to replicate learning in community
health. The project would also see the setting
up of an alumni committee that would monitor
the progress of fellows who have completed
their training.
