The grant is towards the second phase of “Pahla Kadam — implementing a 'multi-option' model of inclusive education” being implemented by RMKM with the Trusts’ funding since 2004-05. The grant continues the work in select areas of Ajmer and Beawar to bring about inclusion in primary classes (grades I to V) in RMKM schools in Ajmer and Beawar to ensure better learning outcomes of both, normal children and children with special needs. For those children who cannot access any therapy centre for various reasons, the project will provide community-based rehabilitation services and aims to develop a “CBR kit”.

RMKM has accumulated experience in working with an inclusion model, the grant will allow them to become a resource centre on inclusive education and facilitate adoption of this concept and methodology in other parts of Rajasthan and even elsewhere.
