Building Organizational Capacities

Human and organizational capacity is critical to quality of interventions. The health sector, like others in social development, has witnessed a serious paucity of well trained and suitably motivated young professionals.

The Trust support aims to leverage the rich experience of practitioners to build perspectives and skills for careers in public and community health. It has also encouraged support to specialist and renowned institutions to offer skill development programmes, especially those working in the non profit context.

Project supported by the Trust under this subtheme include:

Sir Ratan Tata Trust Fellowship in Community Ophthalmology The Trust has supported Medical Research Foundation (Sankara Nethralaya) towards two fellowship programmes to train ophthalmologists. The support has also facilitated the carrying out of sight restoring cataract surgeries on the deserving poor. (Click here to read more)
