Currently, micro watershed projects under Himmothan Pariyojana are being implemented in the following watersheds.
1. Pidyadhar micro-watershed
Pan Himalayan Grassroots Development Foundation, Ranikhet, is the Trust’s partner NPO in this three year watershed development project, initiating community forestry on 90 hectares of contiguous degraded hill slopes, besides bringing 90 acres of farm land under improved irrigation systems in five villages in the Pidyadhar micro-watershed area in Sirmaur District, Himachal Pradesh. The project was operationalised in April 2004.
2. Nakehad Khad watershed
Society for Environment and Rural Awakening (ERA), Kangra, is the Trust’s partner NPO in this three year comprehensive watershed development project, treating 502 hectares of the Nakehad Khad watershed, covering eight villages in Dol-Khariyana and Thil Panchayat of Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh. 3. Runnja Khala watershed
Social Awareness Through Human Involvement (SATHI), Katli, is the Trust’s partner NPO in this three year comprehensive watershed development project, treating 464 hectares of the Runnja Khala watershed, covering four villages in Sarahan block of Sirmour district, Himachal Pradesh. The project was operationalised in January 2006.
4. Silh Nala watershed
Manav Vikas Sansthan (MVS), Kalol, is the Trust’s partner NPO in this three year comprehensive watershed development project, treating 456 hectares of Silh Nala watershed, covering four villages in Jhanduta block of Bilaspur district, Himachal Pradesh. The project was operationalised in January 2006.

Mount Valley Development Association (MVDA), Tehri Garhwal, is the Trust’s NPO in this three year comprehensive watershed development project, treating 465 hectares of the Semgadhera watershed, covering five villages in Bhilangana block of Tehri Garhwal district, Uttarakhand. Jan Vikas Sansthan (JVS), Tehri Garhwal, is the Trust’s partner NPO in this three year comprehensive watershed development project, treating 376 hectares of the Hilaigad watershed, covering five villages in Jakholi block of Tehri Garhwal district, Uttarakhand. 3. Duggada Khad watershed
Garhwal Vikas Kendra (GVK), Nainbagh, Tehri Garhwal is the Trust’s partner NPO in this three year comprehensive watershed development project, treating 644 hectares of Duggada Khad watershed, covering five villages in Jaunpur block of Tehri Garhwal district, Uttarakhand. The project was operationalised in January 2006.

Berinag Gram Swarajya Mandal (BGSM), Kande, is the Trust’s partner NPO in this three year watershed development project, treating 595 hectares of Sheragarh watershed, covering three villages in Berinag block of Pithoragarh district. The project was operationalised in October 2005.
2. Sarkhet watershed
Kasturba Mahila Utthan Mandal (KMUM), Kausani, is the Trust’s partner NPO in this three year watershed project, treating the 517 hectare Sarkhet watershed, covering eight villages in Dhauladevi block of Almora district. The project was operationalised in October 2005.
3. Dewal Gar watershed
General Rural Advancement Society (GRAS), Lohaghat, is the Trust’s partner NPO in this three year watershed project, treating 503 hectares of Dewal Gar watershed, covering four villages in Barakote block of Champawat district. The project was operationalised in October 2005.
4. Khamari watershed
Grameen Vikas Samiti (GVS), Kotabagh, is the Trust’s partner NPO in this three year watershed project, treating 805 hectares of the Khamari watershed, covering three villages in Bhimtal block of Nainital district. The project was operationalised in October 2005.
5. Kaligarh watershed
Himalayan Gram Vikas Samiti (HGVS), Gangolihat, is the Trust’s partner NPO in this three year watershed project, treating 561 hectares of Kaligarh watershed, covering two villages in Berinag block of Pithoragarh district. The project was operationalised in October 2005.
6. Kandali-Pali watershed
Himalayan Sewa Samiti (HSS), Dharapani, is the Trust’s partner NPO in this three year watershed project, treating 587 hectares of Kandali-Pali watershed, covering four villages in Kanalichinna block of Pithoragarh district. The project was operationalised in September 2006.
7. Malli Ryuni watershed
Voluntary Association for the Development of Hills of Uttarakhand (VADHU), Purani Abkari, is the Trust’s partner NPO in this three year watershed project, treating 447 hectares of the Malli Ryuni watershed, covering two villages of Dwarahat block of Almora district. The project was operationalised in September 2006.
8. Bridh Jageshwar watershed
Rural Initiative for Social Engineering (RISE), Manglata, is the Trust’s partner NPO in this three year watershed project, treating 596 hectares of Bridh Jageshwar watershed, covering five villages in Bhaisiyachana block of Almora district. The project was operationalised in September 2006.
9. Bera Garh watershed
Association for Rural Planning and Action (ARPAN), Helpia, is the Trust’s partner NPO in this three year watershed project, treating 702 hectares of Bera Garh watershed, covering five villages in Kanalichina block of Pithoragarh district. The project was operationalised in September 2006.
10.Ghanghal Kuluwa watershed
Central Himalayan Rural Action Group (CHIRAG), Sitla, is the Trust’s partner NPO in this three year watershed project, treating 528 hectares of Ghanghal Kuluwa watershed, covering three villages in Hawalbag block of Almora district, Uttarakhand. The project was operationalised in September 2006.
Besides the above said ten watershed projects, Central Himalayan Rural Action Group (CHIRAG), Sitla, is involved in a natural resources management project for eight Gram Panchayats, covering 29 villages in Bageshwar district, Uttarakhand. The project was operationalised in November 2002.
