Sir Ratan Tata Trust

Sir Ratan Tata Trust is one of the oldest Indian foundations and today, continues to pursue the goal of being a professionally managed philanthropic organisation. Through its grant making, the Trust supports efforts for the development of society, in areas of Rural Livelihoods & Communities, Education, Health, Civil Society & Governance (CS&G) and Arts & Culture.

The Trust is looking for a suitable professional to consolidate and expand its CS&G portfolio, as it is increasingly geared up to identify new funding opportunities in this sector, while simultaneously learning from its past grant-making experiences. The CS&G portfolio focuses on: (i) Encouraging youth action for development through Youth and Civil Society initiative; (ii) Human Rights & Governance; and (iii) Governance in Civil Society.

Programme Associate (Civil Society & Governance)

S/he will assist senior programme staff in developing and supporting the Trust’s Youth & Civil Society initiative within the CS&G funding portfolio. The job will entail working, both independently and as a part of the Team, with potential and current grantees; in project identification, appraisal and proposal development; evaluation and analysis of project progress; and documentation, reporting and monitoring. The Trust would prefer the right candidate to: (i) possess a Master’s degree in Social Science / Rural Development / Economics / Human Resource Development/ Political Science / Development / Sociology / Developmental Studies; (ii) have a minimum of three - five years exposure in designing and managing civil society programmes particularly with young people; (iii) have the ability to innovate future strategies, based on the changing scenario and relevance of the same, at that point of time; (iv) willing to undertake extensive travel; (v) interact with a wide range of people; (vi) have the zeal to excel and deliver, in a challenging environment; and (vii) possess good command over spoken and written English and Hindi.

The Trust provides an ideal atmosphere, conducive to maximizing output. The remuneration shall be commensurate with the applicant’s ability and experience.
