Himmothan Pariyojana: Sir Ratan Tata Trust signs MoU with Government of Uttaranchal


The Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Uttaranchal (GoUA) on May 5, 2004, in Dehradun, for carrying out rural development projects in the state, under the Trust's initiative, 'Himmothan Pariyojana'. The MoU was signed by Mr. H. D. Malesra, Secretary & Chief Accountant, SRTT, and Dr. R. S. Tolia, Chief Secretary, GoUA. It will remain valid for a period of ten years.

The MoU sets out the commitment of the Trust and GoUA to ensure the timely realization of goals under Himmothan Pariyojana, which focus on: (a) enhancing rural livelihoods through watershed development; (b) improving community health through drinking water and sanitation interventions; and (c) supporting livelihood enhancement activities.
